LEAK DETECTION
Powders, proteins and ingredients contain vitamins and minerals, which are well protected with leak tight packaging. Sunlight and oxygen cause the vitamins and minerals in a product to diminish, which in turn causes the quality of the product to deteriorate.
As a brand who produces powders, proteins or ingredients, it is significant to use the right packaging to guarantee the reliability of the products. To maintain the quality of your powders, proteins or ingredients, leak detection is very helpful. In addition, it is also very unhygienic in the production line when the powder ends up everywhere and nowhere.
Our leak detection solutions are testing in a non-destructive way, which means that your packaging stays intact and don’t have to be destroyed after testing. When no leak is found, your product can directly put back into the production line. With this solution, good savings are made on testing cost, products are less likely to be returned later in the chain, production waste is reduced, water in a production environment eliminates and accurate and traceable measurement results are made.
TYPES OF POWDERS, PROTEINS OR INGREDIENTS PACKAGING
Powders, proteins or ingredients are packed in many different ways, such as jars, cans, pouches and stick packs. The two types of packaging are flexible and rigid packaging, tested by using the vacuum decay method.
- Flexible packaging: Flexible packaging includes, for example pouches with nutrition or other proteins, pouches with ingredients or stick packs. These packages can be sealed on one or two sides. Some packaging also have a resealable opening.
- Rigid packaging: powders, proteins or ingredients are also packaged in rigid packaging, such as jars and cans. For example, with jars filled with ingredients or jars with protein nutrition, only the top parts of the jar are measured for leaks. Cans filled with powders or ingredients are completely measured for leaks.

STATIONARY LEAK TESTER
Flexible powders, proteins or ingredients packaging are tested in the Stationary Leak Tester. The packagig is placed between two flexible membranes. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. This creates a very small measuring area without damaging the packaging. With this unique measuring method, you can detect both micro leaks and large leaks without having to change any settings.

STATIONARY LEAK TESTER XS & M
Some rigid packaging are tested in the Stationary Leak Tester XS or M. Specially for this packaging, a custom-made insert is created in the exact form of the packaging. The packaging is placed between the insert and a flexible membrane. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. This creates a very small measuring area without damaging the packaging. With this unique measuring method, you can detect both micro leaks and large leaks without having to change any settings.

CAN LEAK TESTER
Rigid powders or proteins packaging are tested with the Can Leak Tester. The CLT uses pressure differences to test for leaks. A flexible rubber membrane is created in the exact form of the can. A bell jar containing the flexible rubber membrane, drops down over the packaging. A vacuum is then created in the surrounding space. If the can has a leak, this is shown by a change in the pressure in the measuring bell jar.

BOTTLE LEAK TESTER
The Bottle Leak Tester will test whether the jars are properly closed without spoiling the valuable contents. Our Bottle Leak Tester embraces the top of the jar and, sometimes with a FDA approved membrane, checks if there are any leaks in the top or seal. This solution is used with, for example jars with ingredients or jars with protein nutrition.

IN-LINE POWDERS, PROTEINS OR INGRDIENTS TESTING
It is also possible to come up with an in-line solution for your powders, proteins or ingredients packaging. The only difference with the stand-alone solutions, is that your packaging is tested within your production line. This in-line machine is able to detect leaks at random, fully automatically or 100%.
