TYPES OF INFANT NUTRITION PACKAGING
Infant nutrition consists of different products and can therefore be packed in different ways. The types of packaging in this industry are rigid and flexible packaging, both tested by using the vacuum decay test method.
- Rigid packaging: Rigid packaging is also used for infant nutrition, for example cans filled with milk powder, tubs with milk powder or cups filled with fruit snacks or vegetable snacks.
- Flexible packaging: Infant nutrition can be packed in flexible packaging, such as pouches with milk powder, pouches with baby snacks or a fruit snack in a squeeze pack with sprout. Sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging is increasingly popular within this industry, which are often flexible packaging.

CAN LEAK TESTER
The Can Leak Tester is the perfect solution for rigid packaging, such as cans filled with milk powder. Specially for your can, a custom-made membrane is created in the exact form of your infant nutrition can. A bell jar containing a flexible rubber membrane drops down over the packaging. A vacuum is then created in the surrounding space. If the can has a leak, this is shown by a change in the pressure in the measuring bell jar.

STATIONARY LEAK TESTER XS & M
Some rigid packaging are tested in the Stationary Leak Tester XS or M. For this packaging, a custom-made insert is created in the exact form of the packaging. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. This creates a very small measuring area without damaging the packaging. With this unique measuring method, you can detect both micro leaks and large leaks without having to change any settings.

The Tubs Leak Tester is a custom-made leak tester, specially developed for infant nutrition tubs. This tester is able to test tubs in different sizes. Flexible packaging is tested in the Stationary Leak Tester. The packaging is placed between two flexible membranes. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. IN-LINE INFANT NUTRITION TESTING
It is also possible to develop an in-line leak detection solution for your infant nutrition packaging. The only difference with the abovementioned stand-alone solutions, is that this solution is testing your products within your production line. An in-line machine is able to detect leaks at random, fully automatically or 100%.
