Fruits and vegetables are often transported in large trays. In supermarkets many fresh fruit and vegetables lie unpackaged. But there also exist pre-cut fresh fruit and vegetables or fruit and vegetable packaging which ensures a longer shelf-life. Fruit and vegetables can spoil fairly quickly and it is significant to remain the vitamins and minerals within these products.
As a fruit or vegetable producer, it is important to offer reliable and good quality products. But how do you guarantee this? Your fruits and vegetables packaging must be leak tight and our leak detection solutions are very helpful with this.
With our non-destructive way of testing your fruit or vegetable packaging, your product stays undamaged and don’t have to be destroyed after testing. When no leak is found, your product can directly put back into the production line. TYPES OF FRUIT & VEGETABLES PACKAGING
The packed fruits and vegetables are packed in different ways. Sustainable and environmentally friendly packaged fruit and vegetables are also becoming more common. It is packed in flexible and rigid packaging and we use the vacuum decay testing method to test your fruit or vegetables packages.
- Flexible packaging: Flexible fruits and vegetables packaging includes pre-cut fresh products, such as pouches with stir-fried vegetables and pouches filled with salad. But also dried fruits and dried vegetables are packed in flexible packaging.
- Rigid packaging: Cut fruit is often packed in plastic trays, but fruit and vegetables are increasingly packed in sustainable trays. To ensure a longer best-before-date, fruit and vegetables are also regularly packed in cans.

STATIONARY LEAK TESTER
Flexible fruit packaging or vegetable packaging are tested in the Stationary Leak Tester. The packaging is placed between two flexible membranes. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. This creates a very small measuring area without damaging the packaging. With this unique measuring method, you can detect both micro leaks and large leaks without having to change any settings.

STATIONARY LEAK TESTER XS & M
Some rigid fruit packaging or vegetable packaging, such as products packed in trays, are tested in the Stationary Leak Tester XS or M. For these packaging, a custom-made insert is created in the exact form of your packaging. The packaging is placed between the insert and one flexible membrane. After closing the lid, a deep vacuum is created in the test chamber. This creates a very small measuring area without damaging the packaging. With this unique measuring method, you can detect both micro leaks and large leaks without having to change any settings.

CAN LEAK TESTER
The Can Leak Tester is the perfect solution for fruits and vegetables packed in cans. Specially for the can, a custom-made membrane is created in the exact form of the rigid packaging. A bell jar containing the flexible rubber membrane drops down over the packaging. A vacuum is then created in the surrounding space. If the can has a leak, this is shown by a change in the pressure in the measuring bell jar.

IN-LINE FRUITS & VEGETABLES PACKAGING TESTING
It is also possible to develop an in-line leak detection solution for your fruits or vegetables packaging. The only difference with the stand-alone solution is that your packaging is tested within your production line. Our in-line solutions are able to detect leaks at random, fully automatically or 100%. For example, the Rotary, which is able to test your flexible fruit or vegetable packaging, up to 120 individual packages per minute.
