Willem-Jan Ruder is both supply chain manager and project manager at Multifill in Mijdrecht in the Netherlands. Multifill fills cleaning and maintenance products for different brand owners, which includes floor, sanitary and kitchen cleaners, as well as personal care products such as hand soap, bath foam, shampoo and (hand) sanitisers.
As supply chain manager, Willem-Jan is responsible for the complete logistical flow (purchasing/production planning/internal and external logistics) and it was in his capacity as project manager that he authorised the purchase of the Oxipack machine.
Asked how their company came to hear of Oxipack, the somewhat surprising answer was: ‘from the competition’, which just demonstrates how well connected the sector is.
The challange Multifill was strugling with and for which they called in Oxipack’s expertise was the production of a cleaning product which is filled in a cup and topped with a seal. Leakage is a major issue here and the company required a solution that would meet with the high customer expectations. Willem-Jan: “A leak free product is of course an absolute must!”
Oxipack is a company that enjoys putting their expertise and inventions into practice for a client’s specific needs. They engineered and built a leak detection machine capable of finding small (and big) leaks in the packaging and in line, at a speed of 60 cups per minute.
Willem-Jan: “Oxipack helped us understand the process of leak detection and used this information to develop the machinery. They also installed everything and continued with their support afterwards, assisting us in further fine-tuning the process.”
Willem-Jan couldn’t be more enthusiastic about his experience with Oxipack: “They were helpful and understanding, especially when it come to the high customer expectations.” So would Multifill spread the Oxipack name further in the sector? “Absolutely! Their expertise and collaboration were outstanding!”
